Angus Dewar, hereditary Laird of the Culloden Trust, for the first time in his life has fallen passionately in love ( or is it lust?) with the Solicitor for the Culloden Trust, Jennifer Graham. She has reciprocated in kind and now carries Angus' child. What is left of the Trust after Angus took on the Partners? How can he escape the wrath of the Guardians, who were once his protectors? How will his child, innocent of all that went before, handle the tainted bequest that his father has left him?

Book ReviewThe Culloden Conspiracy
This is a trilogy of three, more or less sequential stories, all triggered by the landing of six caskets of gold coins on a dark and stormy night on the west coast of Scotland in 1746. This was a gift from King Louis XV in support of Charles Edward Stuart, the Young Pretender of Scotland. Unfortunately, Prince Charlie, having being beaten badly at Culloden, was in the process of escaping to France when the money arrived. There being no clear way to support the Jacobite cause in the immediate future, the money was hidden. These three books, tell the story of what might have happened to all that money between 1746 and the 21st century.
Large amounts of money always bring out the human traits of greed, betrayal and violence and sometimes the ideals of honesty, loyalty and trustworthiness come into play. These stories tell the record of how these traits played out over the years as different people controlled the fate of these treasure chests of gold.
This makes for exciting reading because the stories flow smoothly and both the protagonists and the antagonists come across as real people reacting to circumstances they usually did not expect. Some make you think of Isaac Bell and James Bond and their ladyfriends – others of real-life heroes and heroines from history. It is easy to imagine the books being made into a movie. The action moves quickly as the story travels from Scotland to North America across to the west coast and back again to Scotland and southern France. The reader travels across the Atlantic under sail in an ex-slaver , around the Horn in a clipper and over the wagon trails across the western plains through the Rockies. The detail in the stories reflects the research done as the writer delves into subjects as varied as celestial navigation, genealogy, money laundering, and bipolar medication.
Your imagination will not be up to guessing what’s going to happen next so count on reading right to the end.

I really enjoyed the books except the parts about Gavin, it came across as very homophobic.
